Grassroots Modernization with Meru Branch Digitization Drive

The Kenya African National Union (KANU) has continued the nationwide expansion of its Branch Digitization Program, extending its technology and administrative modernization push to the Meru County Branch.

The initiative focuses on equipping regional branch offices with digital infrastructure to streamline administrative workflows, maintain real-time membership records, and uphold regulatory compliance standards established by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

To spearhead the rollout in the region, a delegation from the party headquarters led by Executive Director Ms. Mercy Wanyeki and Elections Coordinator Mr. Najel Otieno visited the Meru Branch Office. The team was warmly received by Meru Branch Chairman Mr. Joses Kithinji alongside local branch executives.

During the engagement, the Meru branch leadership affirmed their full backing for the modernization campaign, underscoring that integrating digital systems will enhance operational efficiency, speed up inter-office communication, and improve day-to-day administrative management. Local officials noted that branches serve as the vital roots of the party, making institutional capacity building at the regional level a top priority.

The Meru rollout forms part of KANU’s strategic groundwork to fortify its grassroots structures ahead of the upcoming General Election. By transitioning county hubs into agile, digitally connected centers, the party ensures its regional leadership is fully empowered to coordinate ward-level mobilization, manage civic engagement programs, and drive structured political operations nationwide.
