The KANU Elgeyo Marakwet branch today hosted the Party’s Executive Director, Ms. Mercy Wanyeki, who was accompanied by the Elections Coordinator, Mr. Najel Otieno, in a visit aimed at advancing the Party’s grassroots engagement and digitization agenda.
The delegation was warmly received by the Branch Chairman, Mr. Paul Kibet, the KANU Women Congress (KWC) Chairperson, Ms. Margaret Kapkatui, and the Branch Executive Officer, Ms. Faith Chepkonga, alongside other branch members. The meeting provided an opportunity for the national leadership and branch officials to discuss ways of strengthening party operations and enhancing coordination at the grassroots level.
The visit forms part of KANU’s ongoing nationwide initiative to engage branch leadership and implement digital systems that will improve efficiency, communication, and service delivery across the Party’s structures. Through the digitization programme, KANU aims to modernize its operations and create stronger links between the national office and its branches.
Speaking during the engagement, Branch Chairman Mr. Paul Kibet welcomed the initiative and commended the Party’s leadership for its commitment to strengthening grassroots structures.
“As a branch, we’re happy that the party is making efforts to engage the grassroots and improve operational efficiency through digitization,” he said.
Branch members expressed their support for the ongoing reforms, noting that enhanced digital systems will contribute to better coordination, improved record management, and more effective engagement with members across the region.
The visit also provided a platform for discussions on branch development, membership mobilization, and strategies for enhancing the Party’s visibility and effectiveness at the county level. Leaders reaffirmed the importance of active branch participation in driving the Party’s mission and objectives.
The Elgeyo Marakwet engagement is part of KANU’s broader efforts to build stronger and more responsive party structures throughout the country. By investing in digitization and maintaining regular interaction with branch leadership, the Party continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering grassroots members and improving organizational efficiency.
As KANU advances its modernization agenda, such engagements remain crucial in ensuring that branches are equipped, connected, and aligned with the Party’s vision of a stronger, more dynamic, and grassroots-driven political organization.
