KANU Women Congress Intensifies Leadership Training in Mombasa Ahead of 2027 Elections
The KANU Women Congress (KWC) has continued its Political Training Bootcamp in Mombasa, bringing together women leaders and aspiring political candidates under the theme, “Strengthening Women’s Grassroots Political Participation through Civic Education and Leadership Development.”
The bootcamp forms part of KWC’s broader commitment to empowering women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to actively participate in political leadership and governance. Through civic education and leadership development, participants are being equipped with practical tools to enhance their engagement in community affairs, party activities, and elective politics.
A key focus of the training is preparing women to take up leadership positions and contest elective seats in the 2027 General Election. KWC remains steadfast in its mission to create pathways for greater representation of women in political decision-making by nurturing a new generation of capable and informed leaders.
Speaking during the ongoing engagement, KWC leaders emphasized that meaningful political participation begins at the grassroots level, where civic awareness, leadership skills, and community involvement form the foundation for successful public service. The bootcamp therefore provides an important platform for mentorship, networking, and capacity building among women leaders.
As part of the Mombasa programme, the KWC National Leadership also held an extensive consultative meeting with the KANU Mombasa Branch leadership. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the national and branch structures, enhancing organizational coordination, and laying the groundwork for effective mobilization ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
The meeting further explored strategies for expanding women’s participation within party structures, increasing grassroots outreach, and ensuring that branch leadership remains aligned with KWC’s national vision and objectives.
The ongoing training and leadership engagements underscore KWC’s unwavering dedication to promoting inclusive political participation and empowering women to play a more prominent role in shaping the country’s democratic future. By investing in civic education, leadership development, and grassroots organization, KWC continues to strengthen its capacity to support women leaders as they prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the 2027 elections.
Through initiatives such as the Mombasa Political Training Bootcamp, KWC is reinforcing its commitment to building a strong network of women leaders who are ready to champion community interests, contribute to national development, and successfully compete for elective positions across the country.
