Article 11: Nomination of women representative
There shall be a Women League Constituted by female members of KANU who subscribe to the
League at all structures of the party.
The Women Representative therefore must be a member of such league in her respective level of
structure to qualify for nomination and election.
11.1 Qualifications
a) Be a member of KANU for a period of not less six (6) months prior to the date of nomination
b) Be a citizen of Kenya and a holder of a National Identity card or a Kenya passport as may be
c) Prescribed by law.
d) Must pledge to contribute the requisite amount as provided for by FORM 10 PPC 4
e) Be a registered voter in the country in which he/she intends to contest IV. Be eighteen years and above.
f) Be conversant with support and subscribe to the party ideology, philosophy, mission and values.
g) Sign the party code of conduct and abide by the party pledge of commitment
h) Pay nomination non-refundable fees in the amount of Ksh.100,000/=. This amount may be waived or
reduced to take in to account special interest groups.
i) Submit Curriculum Vitae in a prescribed form and a valid certificate of good conduct
j) Be qualified to be a candidate for the position of a women representative as per the national legislation.
k) Not owe allegiance to a foreign state
l) Not be a public officer or be acting in any state of public office
m) Be a holder of a degree certificated from a university recognized in Kenya.
n) Be nominated by at least 2000 registered members of KANU Party in the county he/she would want to
contest in.
o) Submit a clearance certificate from KRA
p) Provide a clearance certificate from HELB.
q) Submit a clearance certificate from EACC.
r) Be a Gold Card Holder/ Member
s) And any other requirement as shall be directed by the IEBC with regards to matters elections
