j) Be nominated by at least 2000 duly registered members of KANU Party from each of at least 24
counties.

k) Must not owe allegiance to any foreign state.

l) Must have attained Platinum membership in the party.

m) Must Submit:

n) A clearance certificate from Kenya revenue Authority (KRA)

o) A clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

p) A clearance certificate from Ethics and Anti-corruption commission (EACC)

q) Certificate of good conduct

r) A certified proof of the applicants National Elector Card

s) A Certified copy of the applicants Identity Card

t) A Certified proof of the name of the branch to which the applicant belongs.

u) Such non-refundable fee in cash of banker’s cheque or other approved mode of payment as may
be determined by the National Executive Committee as Nomination fee.

v) Be a holder of a university degree from a university recognized in Kenya.

w) Must nominate a deputy presidential candidate for the ticket who must conform to all of the
abovementioned qualifications as a presidential candidate where the deputy presidential nominee
is a KANU party member

x) In the event the nominee in subclause (v) is as a result of a coalition, then the qualifications
required shall form part of the coalition agreement.

y) And any other requirement as shall be directed by the IEBC with regards to matters elections

Article 7: Nomination of Governor

1) Registration of interested candidates shall be done at the National Secretariat in a prescribed

form accompanied by registration fees as determined by Board;
2) A person applying to be considered for nomination as a County Governor must possess all

the relevant qualifications as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010, The Elections Act, the party
Constitution and all other relevant provisions of the Law;
