PART IV: APPLICATION FOR NOMINATION
4. Procedure of Applying for Nomination
All persons seeking to contest in a Presidential, Gubernatorial, Senatorial, National Assembly
Member, W o m a n Representative or County Assembly R e p r e s e n t a t i v e Election on a
KANU ticket (nomination) shall register to the KANU Party in respect of any election for which
these Rules apply and shall-
4.l Apply to the National Elections Board in the prescribed manner;
4.2 Submit with the application a duly completed and signed Code of Conduct to the
party;
4.3 Fully and truthfully answer all questions posed by the Party, and supply all information
that the Party may require in the application accurately and truthfully.
4.4 Submit his application to the National Election Board within the timeframe
published by the National Elections Board.
4.5 Pay an application and nomination fee as shall be determined by the National Executive
Committee.
4.6 Applicants may download the application forms from the party portal, fill and upload all
required documents in the prescribed manner.
Article 6: Nomination of Presidential Candidate
The nomination of KANU Presidential Candidate shall be by the Special National Delegates
Congress (SNDC) as described in Article 13(13.4) of the party’s constitution.
The Presidential candidate must:
a) Be a Kenyan citizen by birth
b) Qualify to stand for election as a member of parliament.
c) Must pledge to contribute the requisite amount as provided for by Form 10 PPC 1
d) Be a member of the party for a period not less than five year prior to his nomination.
e) Be a holder of a National identity card or Passport
f) Must be 18 years and above
g) Be a registered voter in any county in the Republic of Kenya.
h) Pay nomination non-refundable fees in the amount of Ksh 5,000,000/=.
i) Sign the Party code of conduct and abide by the Party pledge of commitment
