8. Payment of the application and nomination fee does not guarantee clearance to participate in
the nomination process or direct nomination where there is only one aspirant.
9. The Board shall then cause a list of all the applicants to be appropriately published and
displayed in the party website;
10. The Board shall prepare the final list and submit the same to IEBC
11. Where two or more aspirants show interest in the contesting for the party ticket for any position,
the board shall employ of the following methods to determine the party candidate; -
(i) Build consensus among the aspirants to support one of them;
(ii) Undertake independent research or opinion polling to determine the most popular
candidate;
(iii) Interviewing the aspirants to determine the suitable candidate
(iv) In the event the candidates are not able to agree on any of the above, the board shall
proceed to conduct free, fair and democratic nomination exercise;
12. The date, Venue and officials overseeing the nomination exercise at the national, county,
constituency and ward levels shall be communicated within reasonable time to ensure
transparency;
13. The board shall conduct both competitive and non-competitive nomination process;
13.1.1 Competitive nomination process shall;
i. use the party membership register certified by National Executive Council;
ii. the board shall post in a conspicuous place within the polling venue the list of
members eligible to vote at that venue; and provide at each polling venue polling
materials including
i. ballot papers;
ii. ballot boxes;
iii. membership Register;
iv. pens; and
v. party primary election result slips.
13.1.2 non-competitive nomination process
a) Where the board intends to conduct a noncompetitive party primary delegates from the branch as per the
party constitution shall be involved.
b) The paid-up party branch delegates as per the constitution may participate in non-competitive party
primary.
