ARTICLE 56:

REPEAL AND REPLACEMENT

The KANU Constitution dated 2012 is hereby repealed and replaced with this Constitution.

ARTICLE 57:

TRANSITION

All Organs, Committees or Offices previously existing under the Constitution dated 2012 and

all appointments or nominations made thereunder including assets, liabilities or contractual
obligations entered into shall remain in force unless otherwise dissolved pursuant to this

Constitution.

All officers (Staff) of the party before the adoption of this constitution shall hold office until
the first grassroots and National Elections under the amended constitution and shall be

eligible for any of the created positions to which they qualify. PROVIDED THAT the duties,
authority and powers of any officer shall be varied in accordance with this constitution.

The National Management Committee shall fill the senior positions at the National
secretariat within fourteen days after the first National Elections held under this constitution.

The National Management Committee shall create and fill other offices at the Secretariat as
need arises.

ARTICLE 58:

MISCELLANEOUS

The National Executive Council shall have the power to make rules for the better carrying out of
all matters provided in this Constitution. Such Rules shall be consistent with provisions of this

Constitution and, where inconsistent, such rules made shall be void to the extent of the
inconsistency thereof.
