ARTICLE 39: FINANCES AND AUDIT
39.1. The source of funds for the Party shall include the following;
(a) Membership Fees;
(b) Fundraising and Contributions;
(c) Grants, Contracts, Donations and Legacies accepted by the National Executive
Council;
(d) Revenue from Capital Investments;
(e) Net income from Publications and Consultancies;
(f) Nomination fees;
(g) Contributions from Party Governors and their deputies, Members of
Parliament and Members of County Assemblies;
(h) The Political Parties Fund.
39.2. Each Polling Centre/Ward/Sub-Branch shall remit all monies received in membership
fees and any other revenue to the Branch headquarters as is provided under this
Constitution.
39.3. The finances of the Party other than nomination fees and funds from the Political Parties
Fund shall be apportioned as follows:
(a) The Branch shall be entitled upon application to 40 percent of all
membership fees and dues received and shall be so remitted by the National
Treasurer within a reasonable time of receipt.
(b) Branches shall appropriate no less than 50 per cent of the money received from
the National treasurer to activities and other running costs in the sub-branches’
wards and Polling Centre’s.
39.4. Funds realized from nomination fees shall remain with the National Secretariat Elections
Board Account; and shall be appropriated as directed by the National Chairman.
39.5. Funds from the Political Parties Fund shall be appropriated in accordance with the-work
plan against which the funds were given to the Party PROVIDED the Party’s work plan
