KANU MANIFESTO 2022-2027
Quality Education with focus on Free
AGENDA 2 and Accessible Secondary Education
Research data shows that 204,690 of candidates who sat the Kenya
Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam in 2016 did not get to
Form Four to sit the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
(KCSE) (Economic Survey 2021). Now the challenge seems that much
focus has been on entry to Form One but it now emerges that
retention in school is a serious challenge for the government.
Failure to complete school amounts to wastage of resources for both
the government and families, as well as lost opportunities

Our Vision
We believe that education is the most powerful tool for the advancement of Kenya as an equalizer and
the most potent weapon to fight poverty. We commit to ensuring ‘equality of opportunity in access
and success’ to all learners by offering quality and free secondary education in Kenya.
Our Plan
To meet our country’s needs for quality education with global competitiveness, we will build on the
ongoing reforms and continue improving access to education. We intend to review and revise the
education system, offer free secondary education, extend higher education funding, improve
education infrastructure, review upwards the salary structures associated with the teaching staff and
address the shortfall of teachers and related issues in the country. KANU
