ARTICLE 10: DUTIES OF THE OTHER NATIONAL OFFICIALS
10.1.THE NATIONAL TREASURER:
(a) He shall be in charge of the Party’s financial affairs and shall supervise all Party financial
transactions in consultation with the Secretary General;
(b) Ensure that the money allocated to the party from the Political Parties Fund is not used
for purposes not authorized by the Act;
(c) He shall submit to the National Executive Council and the National Management
Committee a statement bi-annually and shall ensure that the Annual Statement of
Accounts, duly audited, together with the budget for the following year is circulated to all
delegates at the same time as the notice convening the Annual National Delegates
Conference is sent out;
(d) He shall ensure that all moneys of the Party are utilized in accordance with the budget as
approved by the National Delegates Conference, and that every person handling Party
finances adhere to all procedures laid down for handling of such monies or matters
related thereto.
10.2. NATIONAL DEPUTY TREASURER:
He shall assist, and perform the duties and exercise the powers of the National Treasurer in
his absence, or as directed by the National Treasurer o. by the National Executive Council.
10.3.THE NATIONAL ORGANIZING SECRETARY:
(a) He/She shall, in conjunction with the Secretary General, be responsible for promoting
and mobilizing Party activities including recruitment at Branch level and shall ensure
proper and effective functioning of all Branches;
(b) He/She shall, in conjunction with the Secretary General, be responsible for the
preparation of, and thereafter report on the progress in the holding of the meetings of the
Delegates Conferences, the National Governing Council, and the National Executive
Council. He shall ensure that the Branches and Sub-Branches hold their meetings in
accordance with the requirements of this Constitution.
(c) He shall in conjunction with the Secretary General coordinate the functions of the party
caucuses. Perform all the functions that are inherent and customary to the office of the
Organizing Secretary.
